INTRODUCING COMMISSIONED PASTOR TAMMY HALL
Posted June 17, 2025
Tamara Hall, who goes by Tammy, was commissioned at the May 25 Presbytery Meeting to begin serving First Church in Darlington and The Galilean Church in New Galilee.
Tammy has been a member of Vanport Church in Vanport most of her adult life serving on session several times and as early as age 19. She also taught Sunday School and led youth group.
Several years ago Tammy enrolled in the Inter-Presbytery Leadership Formation or IPLF program and attended classes at the Redstone Presbytery Center. IPLF is designed to prepare ruling elders for possible positions as Commissioned Pastor (CPs) to serve churches.
Following her training, Tammy began providing pulpit supply. She says it was a pleasure to fill the pulpit at several churches in the Beaver-Butler Presbytery while mainly helping out at her home church, Vanport Church.
In her time serving,Tammy’s goal has been to help teach and feed the churches she is with. In doing so Tammy says, “I have found out though that they do that for me just as much.”
Tammy still works for Allegheny Health Network full time during the week. She is a practice manager for Women’s Health. Prior to that she worked in Cardiology for 27 years. She is married to Kirk Hall and has five grown children—Billi Jo, Laraine, Chris, Gage and Jessi, and one bonus child, her niece Gabby who lives with her. Tammy has four grandchildren.
Tammy shares, “I am thankful for all of the support from so many gifted ministers that have helped me to grow and supported me and continue to support me through this journey.” So are we! We lift prayers that Tammy and First and The Galilean Churches will be blessed in this new ministry.
