WORSHIP SERVICE HONORS VETERANS

Posted October 26, 2021

Commissioned Pastor Charles Cline who serves First Presbyterian in Parker, PA and Eau Claire Presbyterian in Eau Claire, PA will once again be participating in a joint Veterans’ Day worship service. Pastor Cline, a U.S. Army Veteran, served in Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry Division. A while back, Pastor Cline was invited by Commander H. Jack Buzard to join the local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) organization. He in turn became the first clergyman to serve as chaplain in VFW Parker Post 703 history of nearly seventy-five years.

As a part of the Veterans Day service, which is supported by numerous churches in the area, Pastor Cline will read scripture and lead prayers. Pastor Chuck is proud that First Presbyterian and Eau Claire Presbyterian have been enthusiastic participants in the annual service that brings people together in an ecumenical manner to spread “the word” and reflect upon sacrifices of veterans and their families.

This year’s service will be held at Park Hill Church of God in West Freedom at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, November 7. The service will include interviews with veterans, patriotic music, VFW-American Legion with firing squad and taps. H. Jack Buzard, who is a local funeral director and lay speaker for churches, will deliver the morning message entitled, The Enemy. An invitation is extended to all who would like to attend.
