Rev. Jim Steiner to Serve as Transition Coordinator

Posted January 4, 2021

Rev. Dr. David Oyler’s service as the Temporary Part Time Executive Presbyter of Beaver-Butler Presbytery has concluded. Rev. Jim Steiner has begun serving as Transition Coordinator until our new Executive Presbyter is in place. Jim is an honorably retired member of Beaver-Butler Presbytery and recently concluded transitional ministry at Mars United in Mars. He currently serves as Assistant State Clerk.

Jim worked twenty-seven years in Sales and Marketing Management, before called to ministry in 2001. He attended Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and received his Master of Divinity in 2004. Jim has taken family systems, congregational life, and extensive Interim training.

Jim’s first two calls were in Cincinnati, where he first served as an Associate in a multi-staff church. A significant conflict led him to learn about Transitional Ministry, and he felt a true calling. His first Interim was in Cincinnati, and he returned to Pittsburgh in 2009. Jim has served churches in Monaca, Saxonburg, Monroeville, Hooker & North Washington, Butler, and Mars.

Jim and his family have lived across the U.S., but family is in Pittsburgh. Jim and his wife have two married sons and four grandchildren. They enjoy hiking, biking, reading, and spending time with family.

We look forward to sharing ministry with Jim and thank him for stepping in during this important transition.

Jim will hold irregular office hours until further COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Please feel free to contact him at (724)579-4507 or by email,
