In Memoriam—Rev. Dr. William A. Jamieson

With heavy hearts but in sure hope of the resurrection, we share the news of the Rev. Dr. William A. Jamieson’s passing to glory on Tuesday afternoon, January 6.
Rev. Jamieson served Westminster Church in Evans City for 28 years and was an active member of our Presbytery. His many contributions included serving as Presbytery Moderator, Coordinating Team Chair, and as a member of the Finance Committee.
Rev. Jamieson was born and raised in Clinton, Massachusetts. He graduated Gordon College in Massachusetts and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, earning a Masters of Divinity and Theology with Honors. He earned his Doctorate of Ministry from the Theological Foundation in Donaldson, Indiana. He was ordained May 20, 1960, by the First U.P. Church of Clinton, MA
Rev. Jamieson served as pastor at Amity Presbyterian Church in Dravosburg, Pennsylvania before coming to Westminster Church, Evans City. Upon retiring on April 30, 1998, he was named Pastor Emeritus of the Westminster Church.
Visitation was held on Friday January 9. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January at 10 a.m. at Westminster Church. Rev. Lauren Bosserman, Pastor of Westminster Church and Rev. Dr. Tom Harmon officiated. Rev. Jamieson was laid to rest in the Evans City Cemetery.
