In Memoriam—Elder Andrew Why

With deep sadness for our loss, we grieve the passing of Elder Andrew Why on Sunday, August 16. We thank our Lord for the gift of Andrew to Beaver-Butler Presbytery.
Born on June 15, 1976, in Rochester, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond and Patricia (Gallagher) Why. Andrew attended Robert Morris University and spent a long and successful career in Energy Services. He was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Beaver Falls where he served as an elder. As a coach for youth sports, he made lasting and meaningful impacts in the community.
Andrew served our presbytery in numerous ways over the years. He served as Moderator, Vice-Moderator, Coordinating Team Chair, Member of the Permanent Judicial Commission, and most recently, a member of the Ministry and Vocation Committee, among his many other positions.
A funeral service was be held on Saturday, August 22 at First Presbyterian Church of Beaver Falls with Rev. David Oyler officiating. Interment followed in Beaver Falls Cemetery.
