CHURCH ADMINISTRATORS HONORED
Posted May 5, 2026
On Wednesday, April 22, the Ministry and Vocations Committee (MVC) of Beaver-Butler Presbytery held a luncheon to mark Administrative Professionals Day. Administrative assistants, secretaries, receptionists and individuals who manage church offices across our presbytery were invited.
Denise Hobaugh, chair of MVC, welcomed the guests seated around tables in the large conference room in the Presbytery Center. The room was decorated with the Bible verse and theme of the event, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Guests were then invited to fill their plates from a large spread of delicious croissant sandwiches, salads and assortment of cupcakes—all prepared and catered by Denise.
After the meal, Rev. Kelley Angleberger, pastor at Clinton and Jefferson Center Churches, shared a devotion that centered on the places we call home and how we serve God in those places.
Next, the group assembled in the Resource Center to learn how to create their own party favors. Each crafter decorated a wooden house shape with paper napkin cut-outs which were ironed on and coated with a clear glaze.
Everyone attending enjoyed time away from the office with the special meal, the message of faith and the company of others who serve in similar fashion across our presbytery.
Thank you to office staff—Barb Paff, ChrisAnn Goossen and Rev. Dr. Tom Harmon for organizing and setting up for the luncheon. We extend our thanks and gratitude to all our administrative professionals for their service to our churches throughout the year.
