Another Successful Workday by SAPC
Posted June 9, 2026
On May 2, the Saxonburg Area Presbyterian Collaborative (SAPC) completed another Service Work Day similar ones they did in May and October of 2025. We have been hearing about this new collaboration of churches for the purpose of serving needs in the community.
For this recent work day, 33 volunteers assisted at 10 different work locations. The six congregations that participated included Jefferson Center, Clinton, Westminster, Saxonburg Memorial, Glade Run, and Buffalo (as well as a couple volunteers from outside our Presbytery).
Some of the work completed:
- weeding, hedge trimming, and brush clearing
- repairing a set of mailboxes
- repairing a decorative antique pump
- washing the walls in a basement in preparation for painting
- pulling out bushes from a garden bed
- cleaning gutters
- weed whacking a hillside
- repairing holes in the floor and drywall
- pressure washing a deck
- moving furniture and a rug
- washing windows
The biggest effort was most likely was clearing a tree that had fallen on a deck and wheel chair ramp of a mobile home. After starting with three people at the job site, it ended up taking over 12 people to complete the work.
That said, everyone did a fantastic job at all the job sites and it was again a great success.
Also noteworthy is the gentleman who participated in previous work days who is now coordinating a similar program at his home church—Center Church in Fawn Township. So the collaboration is creating an impact beyond just the Beaver-Butler Presbytery.
Kudos to SAPC for all your generosity and continued good work for the kingdom of God.
