Posted September 14, 2020

Elaine Nucci started on August 17 as financial assistant to treasurer, Lauren Cesnales. Elaine is taking on accounting tasks such as processing remittances and expenses to allow more time for Lauren to work with church members and staff. When asked about her new position she said, “I’m looking forward to working on special projects as well and to meeting and serving our presbytery members. The work and support of churches has never been more vital than it is today.”

As a pastor’s wife, she is used to helping churches. “My husband, Rev. John C. R. Silbert and I are delighted to be serving Covenant United Presbyterian Church in downtown Butler. It is a welcoming congregation with a big heart for mission. Worshiping at Covenant feeds my love of music, intellectual and spiritual pursuits, desire for warm fellowship and personal growth.”

When asked about living and working in Zelienople she said, “John and I love living in Zelie! It is wonderful to be walking distance from the shops, restaurants, historical society, post office, The Strand…and now work! It is truly a dream realized to be able to live and work in town.”

She is also the Advertising Sales Manager for Pittsburgh Cultural District supporting the Arts through advertising sales for Pittsburgh Symphony, Ballet, Opera, Public Theater, CLO, August Wilson African American Cultural Center and Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. Since these performing arts organizations are currently unable to present productions due to the pandemic, she has been on furlough since the beginning of June. She intends to continue working with the presbytery when her job in the Cultural District resumes.

Elaine holds graduate degrees from Point Park University and is a Slippery Rock University alumna where her daughter and son, Christine and Andrew, are currently enrolled. She has two stepdaughters, Kate and Hannah who live in Michigan and Massachusetts. She enjoys playing tennis, reading, gardening, birdwatching, cooking, and entertaining. She is a history buff and has a passion for swing music and classic films.

Welcome, Elaine!
